Massoud Javaheri - Co-founder & COO

Hugo is a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and renewable energy expert with a long track record of scaling global B2B businesses, including as Head of Product Management at Neste, the world's largest producer of SAF and RD.

As one of the pioneers in the sector, he played a foundational role in defining the SAF credit as a concept and instrument, and establishing the credible accounting principles that underpin the voluntary market today. Hugo was the architect behind Neste's first SAF credit transactions, kick-starting pivotal partnerships with Navan, Victor, and Reed & MacKay, and executing landmark deals for leading brands such as BCG, Coldplay, and ING Bank. His cross sector background (including roles at BCD Travel and AirHelp) allows him to truly understand the needs of customers and partners, and deliver highly effective commercial models that just work.

Currently a Senior Associate at Stillwater Associates and a consultant via BoitInc Consulting, Hugo provides the broader industry with strategic counsel. He founded SAF Planet on the principle that the energy transition requires deep, battle-tested insight paired with a strict focus on end-user needs and requirements.

Massoud Javaheri is a recognized pioneer in the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) sector, with a distinguished track record in fuel sourcing, trading, and market development. His career includes pivotal roles at industry leaders such as Preem and Neste, where he was instrumental in managing the commercial and operational scaling of renewable fuel portfolios.

A true architect of the voluntary SAF market, Massoud was among the first to make large-scale SAF credit transactions a reality. He played a central role in landmark deals involving global leaders such as Neste, Finnair, and Boston Consulting Group (BCG), effectively proving the viability of the book-and-claim model. His deep expertise in managing the physical supply chain and financial trading of SAF allows him to bridge the gap between the operational reality of SAF supply, and meeting the business requirements on making a corporate emission reduction reality. 

In addition to his role as COO of SAF Planet, Massoud is a Partner at Teambrokers, where he continues to drive innovation in commodity trading and brokerage. At SAF Planet, he oversees the operational strategy, providing clients with the structural security and market access needed to navigate the evolving landscape of global aviation decarbonization.
